Direct Testimonial

“Ros Banksia-Smith has been our designer for the past three and a half years. In this time she has produced a home well beyond even our greatest expectations. Her professionalism, vision and execution have been exceptional.

She has been personable, approachable and available to us throughout the whole process. One of the most important factors for us is her ability to quickly gain a sense of what we like, give us the chance to include a strong element of our own taste in the design, yet take this and expand on it and come up with something far beyond what we had imagined. Her interpretation of our sometimes-vague ideas into something specific and beautiful is a real skill.

We have always valued function as much as form, and her designs are not only creative, innovative and unique but they are also highly practical and usable — something we are grateful for every day.

Ros is gifted in her field and we are so grateful to her for our beautiful, unique home.”

Direct Testimonial

“I have had the pleasure of working with Ros Banksia-Smith during the design and construction process in building our dream house in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

When looking for an interior designer, I wanted someone to help me bring to life a feel and a look with the fixtures and fittings that I selected for the home. I came to Ros with some, quite frankly, uninspiring drawings of our kitchen. I knew they were not right, but I needed someone to help me with the selections and final kitchen design to make our home beautiful, unique and special.

Our journey started there and came to be so much more. We developed a very close relationship whereby Ros was able to interpret my needs so well that I didn't have to even say the words. She just knew.

The project ended up with Ros assisting me with every area of the home, including the design of my children's bedrooms, my wardrobes and bathrooms. All very special places.

I knew what I wanted but found it difficult to articulate exactly what that looked like. It was a big decision to take on the extra expense as our architect had already completed drawings and the initial finishes selections, but it was so worth it.

Ros was amazing at offering solutions to any problem that I had. I gave her an initial brief and she spent so much time with me making sure everything was just perfect. She worked very well with me in knowing the look and feel of the home. She helped me stay within budget and decide where we could cut back and where we should invest extra.

She helped me by making a final selection of all finishes for both inside and out, and avoided problems with what would otherwise have been an overwhelming task.

We love our home and believe that it is not only Ros's input from a professional perspective but her ability to bring to life what I wanted for our forever family home.”

Partner Perspective

“Ros is a pillar of the Gold Coast and Australian design community through her positive and professional attitude towards her work, clients and staff. Her knowledge of design and business has made her a success both locally and internationally.

I have had the pleasure of working with Ros in my role as Gold Coast coordinator for the DIA Seven by Seven talk series, and her commitment and communication with the speakers was unlike anything I've experienced.”

Partner Perspective

“In the relatively short period of time that I have known Ros professionally, I have had the good fortune to have been dealing with a true professional. Not only is Ros passionate about her work, she is fastidious about the end result and never neglects the needs and wishes of the client.

I have been witnessing the outcome of her work, with the interiors being cleverly completed and the clients always very happy with the final result.

Ros has had considerable experience working on projects in the Asian region and Australia, and this experience is reflected in her work. She always takes up the opportunity to expand her knowledge and skills, and is always willing to assist and share this knowledge within the design community.”
